Rob Breakenridge Show: Episode 2

Featuring interviews with CIJA's Richard Marceau, BCA's Adam Legge, Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi, and columnist & author Tristin Hopper

Welcome to Episode #2 of the Rob Breakenridge Show - thanks for listening to, downloading, and sharing our new podcast. We’ve got a very interesting show for you today.

Up first, we’ll hear from Richard Marceau with the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs. We’ll discuss the shocking murder this week in Washington, DC of two young staffers from the Israeli Embassy and what it tells us about the escalation of hate, intimidation, and violence faced by the Jewish community in North America. What can be done to counter this?

Also, a conversation with Adam Legge, president of the Business Council of Alberta. He’s getting set to head to Ottawa next week for the Speech from the Throne and brining a message of the urgent need for bold action to bolster Canada’s economy and the steps necessary to make Canada an energy superpower.

There’s a lot happening - and a lot to discuss - in Alberta politics these days. The aftermath of the federal election has seen a new push for an independence referendum, fueled in part by the premier’s own words and actions. We just had the spring sitting of the Alberta Legislature wrap up and we’re awaiting official word on three Alberta byelections. We’ll discuss all of that and more with Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi.

Plus, a fascinating and provocative new book examining the many missteps Canada has made on some significant policy fronts - and how the resulting dysfunction can serve as a lesson for other countries in what not to do. National Post columnist Tristin Hopper joins us to discuss his new book “Don’t Be Canada: How One Country Did Everything Wrong All at Once”
